Fitton Says No To Parkin Return

Swindon Town chairman Andrew Fitton has quashed rumours that Super Sammy Parkin could be heading back to Swindon but that is not stopping Town fans from showing their support to a Parkin return to Swindon Town.

Fitton admitted that the club may have thought about bringing back Super Sammy however the club needs to look forward instead of back.

Fitton told the Swindon Town fans at the fans forum Monday, 'It is very difficult for a player to go back. Not that Sam Parkin is not a good player and not that we have not considered it but when you look at the history of players going back it is not very good. We have to be mindful of that.'

So that's the end of the Parkin rumours then?

Not likely, fans on various message boards have voiced their excitement at a possible Parkin return and noted that Parkin has returned to full fitness and is scoring for fun again.

A Facebook group entitled 'Petition for Sam Parkin to Return to Swindon Town FC' has already been set up.

Imagine Sam Parkin and Simon Cox up front for Town next season complimented by Billy Paynter and Blair Sturrock.

Town fans would drool as such a prospect however Luton would be unlikely to let the proven striker leave.

Luton will be looking to bounce back at the first chance and you can be sure that Parkin is a big part of those plans, especially if he continues the fine forum he has displayed so far.

Never say never however it looks unlikely Super Sammy will be returning to the County Ground any time soon.
