Swindon Town Confirm Pre-Season Fixtures

Swindon Town have confirmed their pre-season fixtures for the 2008/09 season including 3 games against higher opposition.

Town will go on tour once again in Austria before returning home to play Premier League side Portsmouth at the County Ground on the 18/7.

The following week Town travel to Blue Square South side Hampton and Richmond and then the following day they play local side Salisbury City. Town will also play League 2 side AFC Bournemouth however it has yet to be determined whether this game will be home or way.

Swindon then play Chippenham Town away on the 26/7 followed by a home match against FA Cup finalist`s Cardiff City on the 29/7 at the County Ground.

The following day Town travel up to Hunts Copse for their annual pre-season friendly against Swindon Supermarine.

Town then round off their pre-season with a trip to Andrew Fitton`s former club, Hungerford Town on the 1/8 followed by a visit to the County Ground by Paul Sturrock`s Plymouth Argyle.

All in all not a bad pre-season, and a very gruelling one for the players. It is thought that the proposed fixture against League 2 side Aldershot Town has been called off.
