'The Don': Our Time Is Coming

Swindon Town legend and current ambassador Don Rogers thinks that the good times are just around the corner at Swindon Town.

Rogers who was a key player in the 1969 League Cup winning team over Arsenal, was on hand yesterday to launch the clubs drive to 6,000 season ticket holders and told the local media,. 'There is a renewed sense of optimism around the place'.

Rogers referred to the politics surrounding the club as a main cause of problems on the pitch, 'We have all been used to things going from bad to worse over the last 10 years". Rogers Said.

'What has happened to this club over the last 10 years has been shocking.

'I think it came very close to going out of business and for things to change around in just six months is incredible.

'The new owners are all football people and want to do well for the club and I am absolutely positive that Swindon are going to go from strength to strength.' Rogers stated.

'The Don' as Rogers is known as to many fans, is now the club's ambassador and has also had the South Stand named in his honour.

The legendary figure told the fans and media at the season ticket launch, that good times are just around the corner again, 'With clubs like ours you usually get 10-year gaps between periods of success and I think our time is coming again.

The club has already said it is aiming for promotion to the Championship next season. Let`s hope this ambition becomes a reality at the end of next season.
