'Mr. Loyal' John Trollope Returns To Swindon Town

Swindon Town legend John Trollope has returned to the club that he spent over 40 years at, after accepting a Youth Team position at Swindon Town.

Trollope holds the Football League record for appearances for one team at 770. This is likely never to be broken due to the lack of loyalty in football these days. Trollope featured in Town`s League cup victory for Swindon Town and made his debuit in 1960.

Trollope would feature for Town until the early 1980`s turning down moves to bigger clubs just to remain at Swindon Town.

Trollope would go on to become manager of Swindon Town replacing Bobby Smith however he found himself to be on the wrong end of the table and was replaced by Ken Beamish near the end of the 1982/83 season after the team were relegated to the fourth divison.

Trollope would remain with the club until 1996 in various roles before Steve McMahon sacked him for no reason other than to feed his own ego.

Trollope would go on to hold many other positions in football and most recently at Wolves.

The owners of Swindon Town have decided to give Trollope an emotional return and now "Mr. Loyalty" will take over the reigns of the under 15`s.

Trollope becomes the second League Cup winner to return this season with Don Rogers joining the club as an ambassador.

Another good bit of PR by AF & Co. Welcome back John, you never deserved the treatment you got from that Steve McMahon.
