Barry Corr Set To Go On Loan To Bournemouth

Swindon Town striker Barry Corr could be set to go out on loan to League 2 outfit AFC Bournemouth.

Town boss Maurice Malpas has revealed he has spoken to Cherries boss Kevin Bond about taking the injury-prone Irishman on loan for a month to build up match fitness.

Corr would be a replacement for Jo Kuffour who agreed a move to Bristol Rovers over the weekend.

Malpas told the Western Daily Press, 'We have spoken to Bournemouth about the possibility of taking Barry on loan for a month.

Malpas was quick to point out that a loan switch is only a temporary move and that Corr still has a future at the County Ground.

'He is very much part of our plans but needs games to get himself back up to speed in terms of match fitness.

'The best thing for him to do would be to go away to Bournemouth for a month play four or five games and then come back here ready to fight for a first-team place.

Malpas also told the Western Daily Press that there have been no firm offers for fringe players at the club.

Probably the best thing if he isn't going to get a game.
