Iffy Onuora is facing a few striker selection nightmares as he could be without Rory Fallon, Hameur Bouazza and Christian Roberts for tomorrow’s FA Cup clash with Boston United. Fallon has returned from suspension but injured his back. If none of those strikers can pass fitness tests, it will leave only Tony Thorpe fit unless Jamie Cureton is recalled from his loan at Colchester United.
Onuora said on the official site: “It might be as late as Saturday before I know my team fully. The biggest doubt, I suppose, is Rory. He’s had a problem with his back and didn’t train on Thursday. It has settled down but not to the extent that we would have liked. He’ll have intensive treatment over the next 24 hours and we’ll see how he is.'
Adding: “Christian hasn’t trained fully. He’s done some running which is slightly encouraging, but it’s another one we’ll have to leave late. You go from having four strikers, potentially down to one in Thorpey, but this is what happens. It’s welcome to management time I suppose. We’ve looked at the permutations in that event, but as I said, we’ll give everyone as long as possible.”
