STFC: Chairman Andrew Fitton Backs Malpas

Swindon Town chairman Andrew Fitton has confirmed that although results have not gone well on the pitch, manager Maurice Malpas has his backing.

Fans started chanting 'you don't know what your doing', 'we want Malpas out' and 'We lost to 10 men again' as Town slumped to their 4th successive home defeat against Millwall on Sunday.

Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser Fitton urged fans to back the management team at the County Ground and that things will get better, 'I do take notice of what the fans are saying and thinking but they have to trust that the people who are running their club know what they are doing.'

It looks as if Malpas is going to get some time to turn things around but failure to turn things around soon will see Town dragged into a relegation scrap.

I losing the plot here .... we have a manager who to put it bluntly destroying the team and causing friction in the fanbase with his obvious lack of motivation and tactical skills and we have to suffer more... no not me I'm out of here - be back when normal service is resumed .. Good luck STFC

i wont say a bad word about fitton ( our saviour ) but please see sence MALPAS OUT !

I share your view too Lawz......... Hopefully this vote of support for MM is the poison challice........... I do feel for the guy but MM is just not management material.
APG_STFC
hopefully this is the dreaded vote of confidence and malpas will be out soon
stfc4ever
To be fair Fitton never actually never mentioned Malpas....

Don't follow that Gazza- when the first paragraph says different. I did hear MM on the radio saying how he felt he had a good understanding with the board. Perhaps he meant an advertising board at CG I don't know. I personnally believe he has good intentions and plans, but is unable due to his personality, get them across... the bloke sounds so dour and uninspiring to me all the time.

It is so frustrating because if we maintained this years away form and had last years home form we would be doing very well... It s abit sad really when only 2 months in the playoff target is unrealistic!
