Byrne: I won't Be Swindon Town Manager

Swindon Town caretaker boss David Byrne has admitted that due to a poor set of results he is out of the running to be the clubs next new manager.

Byrne had hoped to get the job full time after replacing Maurice Malpas who was sacked last month however with Town failing to pick up points, Byrne has conceded defeat.

Byrne has only lost 2 games in 13 but its the draws which have ended his chance of becoming the fulltime manager.

Town are expected to name their new manager before the weekend. The selected candidate is currently employed and Town are current trying to agree compensation with the club the candidate is currently with.

An announcement on the new manager is expected to be made in the next 48 hours.
