'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martin Ling's Match Reaction

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling gives his verdict on Orient's 2-1 loss to Swindon Town at the Matchroom Stadium on Boxing Day.

'Conceding in the first minute gave us an uphill task straight away, and I thought the back four and midfield four were sloppy throughout the first half,' he continued.

'We wanted too much time on the ball and the distribution from back to front was poor.

'We got a head of steam up in the last 15 minutes and had a few chances, but we've got to look at what went wrong in the first half rather than what went right towards the end.

'I've looked at the video (of the penalty) and I can't understand why a penalty has been given - I don't think anyone in the ground would be able to tell you why.

'Just beforehand, Alton Thelwell gave away a free kick for a foul on Simon Cox and, if anything, that was inside the box.

'They're judged on the major decisions and they've got most of those wrong today.'

Oh dear Lingy - clutching at straws are we..... some decisions go for you other days they all go against you... we've seen that plenty of times.
