Corr Out For Six Months

The BBC have reported that Town striker Barry Corr faces up to six months out.

Not only does this finish his season but the realists will be saying it will end his injury plagued Swindon Town career too.

Talking to BBC Radio Swindon, Danny Wilson stated that Corr 'knows he's going to be out for the majority of the season and any footballer would be disappointed.... But he's got to look forward, the more positive frame of mind he's in the easier it is for him to recover.'

Corr started the campaign on the sidelines, his first appearance came as a 2nd half sub at Stockport on September 1st 2008 - he got injured.

Corr then managed to make substitute appearances throughout October and November managing to find his goalscoring form netting in the draws against Leicester and then got his first start at Bristol Rovers but got injured again (despite playing the whole game). A few more games were played in December before picking up another injury against Brighton.

With Billy Paynter lacking match practice after suspencion, manager Danny Wilson threw Corr in to start against Stockport County but during the 2nd half he went off in agony with the shoulder injury that has already troubled the striker.

Shame we have never seen Corr at his best and fully fit. Would score a bag full. Reminds me a bit of Darius Henderson. Shame really but I think he is done. Who would take a chance on him? Perhaps a pay as you play deal?
STFC_Gazza
Pay-as-you-play or monthly rolling at most a 6 month contract is all we could realistically offer... I'd get rid - I rate him but I just don't believe he can ever regain full fitness.

Such a shame - but at the end of the day this is business and his wages could go towards another player. sorry Baz but it needs to be said.

No club will offer him a contract. He will probably end up doing something else and playing non-league when fit. Shame.
