Frozen Out - Swindon vs. Southend Called Off

Frozen Out - Swindon vs. Southend Called Off

Referee Karl Evans was forced to postpone todays match against Southend United due to a frozen pitch.

Despite help from fans (and Danny Wilson) the game fell victim to the weather.

Evans confirmed that the pitch was okay last night but overnight temperatures froze parts of the pitch solid.

The referee praised the Swindon fan who assisted over the last 24 hours - talking to the official Swindon Town website Evans stated 'The fans that were helping out last night did a tremendous job, they really did. Unfortunately there is nothing that could be done about the frost.'
