Matty Robson: A Last Resort?

Danny Wilson has confirmed his interest in former Hartlepool United player Matty Robson.

Robson was released by the Pools after he rejected a new deal offered to him by Chris Turner.

However, Wilson also stated that although he is a fan of Robson, he's not top of the list.

Wilson told the Swindon Evening Advertiser that Robson was 'one of numerous players available at this time and we just have to see what`s around.'

The Swindon Town manager finished by saying 'if we jump in too early with one thing then we may regret it if someone else comes along.'

So, if we sign Robson it's because we've missed out elsewhere!

Like you say in the article, he's basically saying he's a last resort.

Why bother then, the players going to feel undermined by that, if that is the case. DW could be playing clever here, not rushing in and not paying over the top wages etc.. It seems to be a buyers market at the moment.

Keep in mind that Wilson did not actually state that Robson was actually a last resort - I've assumed this by reading that article.
