Ross County Keeper in Town Link

Ross County Keeper in Town Link

Swindon have been tenuously linked with Ross County goalkeeper Derek Soutar.

The Press & Journal named Swindon as one of several English clubs who are currently tracking the former Scotland U-21 international.

Soutar started his career with Dundee where he made 44 league appearances but spent a couple of seasons out on loan with Brechin City and Alloa Athletic respectively.

In 2006 he moved to Aberdeen but only made 13 outings in two seasons before joining Ross County last summer. This season he has been mostly used as understudy to the veteran Englishman Tony Bullock.

Rochdale, Hereford United and Oldham Athletic are the other clubs mentioned as interested parties.

Whether or not another goalkeeper comes in must surely depend on whether Phil Smith accepts the contract offer or not.

Stay tuned...
