ALUMNI: Ben Joyce Joins Torquay

Ben Joyce has signed for League Two outfit Torquay United after impressing during a brief trial.

Along with Sean Morrison and Ben Tozer, Joyce was brought to Swindon from Plymouth Argyle by David Byrne.

He made an instant impact for Swindon scoring his one and only goal on his debut in the 6-0 demolition of Port Vale in April 2008.

However, he was rarely used by Maurice Malpas after that - his best opportunity came in the away fixture at Bristol Rovers where he started up front but went off injured.

Joyce was believed to be training with Yeovil Town but he played and scored twice for Torquay in the 4-0 win over Buckland Athletic.

Vital Swindon wishes Ben Joyce all the best at Plainmoor.

Meanwhile, Exeter City trialist and former Swindon midfielder Chris Allen scored a penalty for the Grecians in their 2-2 draw with Weston-super-Mare last night.
