7 Days In Swindon

Monday 27 July

A quiet day within SN1 with only the announcement of this seasons squad numbers being confirmed.

Tuesday 28 July

Simon Cox returns to the County Ground for West Bromwich Albion. He fails to score as Swindon win 1-0 through a goal by Gordon Greer.

However, trialist Berlin Ndebe-Nlome makes his final appearance for Swindon after failing to impress Danny Wilson.

A good day for Jeremy Newton's young Swindon starlets in the Milk Cup with two wins in a day.

Wednesday 29 July

J-P McGovern, Scott Cuthbert and a mixture of reserves, youths and trialists beat Swindon Supermarine 3-2 at Hunts Copse.

The goals include a fine McGovern strike and two from trialist Yan Klukowski.

Meanwhile, Swindon Town's youngsters are defeated 1-0 by Everton in the Milk Cup Quarter-Finals.

Thursday 30 July

Swindon's youngsters lose again in Northern Ireland losing 3-2 to County Down.

The big news of the day is that Swindon's mysterious trialist is Mouhamadou 'Mustafa' Seye. A Senegalese-Slovak striker who plays for MFK Dubnica.

Friday 31 July

With David Lucas, Phil Smith and Mark Scott already at the club, Danny Wilson suprises many Town fans by completing the signing of Polish Under-21 international Jakub Jesionkowski on a two-year deal.

Saturday 1 August

Swindon lose the final home friendly to Plymouth Argyle by two goals to nil. Marcel Seip and a David Lucas own-goal won it for the Pilgrims.

Next Week

The club will prepare for the opening day away day at Gillingham.

The main point of interest for the week will be whether Danny Wilson can find a striker to field alongside Billy Paynter.

With several trialists coming and going very few contracted players have been seriously linked with the club.

Stay tuned....
