'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Q & A: Milton Keynes Dons (Part 2)

After the 5-0 loss at Gillingham most Town fans feared the worse when the club travelled to Buckinghamshire for the 1st Round League Cup tie with MK Dons.

However, Danny Wilson managed to get the reaction that many did not expect and the players produced a good 4-1 win to earn a trip to Premiership new boys Wolverhampton Wanderers.

For the second time this week we talk to MKTD of the MKDONSFORUM.ORG

on the last match and the next encounter...

1) Welcome back J-P McGovern eh! He's not the most popular player in the Swindon set-up with the fans... How was his Dons career?

JP played for us during the 2006/07 season and made 47 appearances, scoring 3 times. I personally liked him a lot and thought he was quite popular. Fans were a bit gutted he left when he did. Blinding goal tho - 35 yard volley?

2) Before the match on Tuesday you told me that your feeling was that Swindon would comfortably win - why did you think this?

To quote my comment to you 'Have a funny feeling you'll give us a pasting tbh. Last season you had a strong side when we played you' (EDITOR: Yes, this is what he said!). Perhaps I should have put some money on it! But seriously, our team was missing at least five key players, the squad had a lot of new signings that looked like a team of strangers the match before, plus I remember thinking that Swindon had the makings of a strong team last season. So well done.

3) Paul Ince only made 3 changes? Did that make the difference?

Frankly no it didn't. The danger signs were there against Hartlepool and this kind of result was coming. It would be dangerous to read too much into it though. We have been very unlucky to lose Lewington, Gleeson, Leven, Baldock and Wilbraham to injury or sickness and I think that when they return we'll see a massive improvement.

4) Swindon fans are generally pleased that the Swindon players reacted positively after the Gillingham demolition but aren't getting carried away.... What is the general mood within your fanbase post-result?

Disappointed and frustrated with the performance against Swindon. Its not so much the result as the performance (or lack of it) that is causing the fans to be concerned. But we are also realistic about the injury/sickness situation and hope for better things soon.

5) What changes do you think Ince will make for Saturday?

I would hope that Gleeson and Lewington will have recovered in time for Saturdays match. I suspect they will replace Davis (left back - *ex-Town player Sol*) and Carrington (midfield) who had poor games on Tuesday. Puncheon will probably start out wide with Johnson on the other wing. Powell will start alongside McCracken in the centre.

6) Score prediction for Saturday.

Reverse scenario to Tuesday. Dons players desperate to put matters right and Swindon maybe being over confident. Dons win 2-1

Again, many thanks to MKTD MKDONSFORUM.ORG for answering those questions.
