Roberts: I'm Winning The Battle
Town Striker Christian Roberts has come and said he is winning his battle with his alcohol problem.
Since leaving the Sporting Chance alcohol rehabilitation clinic, Roberts has hardly featured in a Town side since returning to the club. Talking of overcoming his alcoholism Roberts was open and honest, “I didn’t realise how tough it would be. It’s a very difficult thing to deal with, it’s still difficult now but I’m trying to do the best i can.'
“Every day is a new day. Every day I wake up I just have to thank God that I haven’t had a drink the day before. Tomorrow, who knows? I never look for tomorrow, I live out today.
“It’s so far so good. I’ve not had a drink since January 13 when I was told I wasn’t allowed a drink after 11pm that day.”
Roberts scored a goal for the Reserves Tuesday and hopes to be able to play a part in Swindon 's match against Bristol City Saturday at Ashton Gate.
