Casal Finally Departs

Swindon Town and Kasali Yinka Casal have finally parted company after some 17 months of dire displays and abandonment in the football wilderness.

It was Maurice Malpas who was guilty of bringing the Nigerian youth cap to the County Ground for an undisclosed fee in August 2008.

Malpas has failed in his attempt to bring Charlie Mulgrew to the club and looked to the former Fulham, DC United player who had earned okay reviews in Holland with Cambuur Leeuwarden.

Casal started his Town career as a regular but it was soon apparent that he was not up to scratch at this level. A League Cup game versus QPR sticks out - his positioning was dire throughout.

However, after losing his place he disappeared from sight - he struggled to get into the Reserves side at times.

Today he was released from his contract and it believed to have signed for Romanian outfit CFR 1907 Cluj.

Best of luck Casal!

We ought to sue You Tube for this purchase - rumour has it we bought him on viewing a video of him when done Malpass.

should read 'WELL done Malpass.'.....Than name still causes my anger to rise and mis type things.

The apitomy of the phrase "panic buy". I do think he was never given the opportunity to prove himself - but there may be an obvious reason for this......
