Paynter Looks to End Exit Talk

Paynter Looks to End Exit Talk

I suppose this happens when many of your sides players are nearing the end of their current contracts isn't it? Billy Paynter is being linked to a move elsewhere by the national press.

Talking to the Swindon Advertiser the Liverpudlian centre forward moved to deny the speculation - Paynter stated that he is 'more than happy to stay. I`m really enjoying it here at the moment... I haven`t turned down a contract and I really don`t see it being an issue.'

Reassuring words. However, with Town impressing and several key players including J-P McGovern and Charlie Austin also out of contract it will be nice to hear some contracts being agreed in the near future... Please.

Paynter is currently in fine form scoring ten league goals so far this season (including one today against Gillingham).
