Peacock Close to Exit?

Lee Peacock looks set to leave Swindon Town for pastures new.

Earlier in the month BBC Radio Wiltshire reported that Peacock was on the brink of leaving the club on a free transfer but it was swiftly yet not convincingly denied the speculation via the Swindon Advertiser.

However, with Vincent Pericard's arrival and more transfer scheduled to come 'Peacs' has become surplus to requirements at the County Ground.

One of the clubs reported to be interested in the 33 year Scotsman is Carlisle United, the club where he started his professional career between 1995-1997. He played for the Cumbrians in 1995, as a midfielder, in a 1-0 win for Swindon (Eddie Murray screamer!).

Mansfield Town followed which earned him a big move to Manchester City but was quickly sold to Bristol City where he enjoyed his most prolific spell under current Town boss Danny Wilson.

Iffy Onuora brought Peacock to Swindon during the clubs ill-fated 2005/2006 campaign which resulted in relegation to League 2.

Peacock was a key figure in Swindon's immediate promotion the following season and even earned the PFA's Fans' Player of the Year in League Two award for his efforts.
