'If It's Football, It's Vital'

League One Round-Up

Goals in either half from in form Chris Lines and Darryl Duffy were enough to give Bristol Rovers and 2-0 win over Hartlepool United, their third straight loss.

Stockport County finally ended their run of defeats with a 0-0 draw at Carlisle United, while Colchester United failed to extend their points lead over Swindon with a goaless draw at Gillingham.

Play-Off chasers Milton Keynes Dons managed to beat struggling Tranmere Rovers with a single goal from Jason Puncheon after only seven minutes.

At Carrow Road, Norwich City faced an up hill struggle against Brentford when Grant Holt was issued a straight red just before Half-Time but the Londoners failed to capitalise and lost to the in form Canaries thanks to a Chris Martin effort thirteen minutes from Full Time.

Neil Harris scored a 57th minute penalty as Millwall beat struggling Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park in front of 3656 fans.

Alan McCormack gave his side Southend United a one nil lead after an hour against lowly Wycombe Wanderers but the Chairboys equalised four minutes later thanks to a goal by Josh Payne on his Wycombe debut - the youngster is currently on loan from West Ham United.

...and finally Yeovil Town faced Exeter City this afternoon in one of those not-really-a-rival-but-I-guess-it-is-a-derby derbies at Huish Park!

Former Oldham defender Stefan Stam scored his first goal for Yeovil to give the home side the lead after only six minutes but the Grecians equalised sixteen minutes later through Adam Stansfield, a player who won the F.A. Trophy with Yeovil and played in their first ever season in the Football League.

However, four minutes before Half-Time Yeovil restored their lead through a Ryan Mason goal. It proved to be enough as the Final Score was 2-1 to the Glovers.

Hopefully Leeds have knackered themselves at White Hart Lane too.
