Swindon Confirm Wise Talks

A spokesman for Swindon Town has confirmed the club are in discussions with Dennis Wise about the Swindon managers job 'We can confirm that Dennis Wise is in talks about becoming the next manager of Swindon Town.' They said.

How far into discussions are the club well according to the club things are at an early stage. 'Things are at an early stage and there is still a lot of talking to be done but if all goes according to plan then we would be looking to make an appointment sooner rather than later.

The spokesman continued, 'Iffy was placed in charge until the end of the season but that was always going to be reviewed at board level over the summer.'

Although the club looked to be firmly behind Iffy Onuora a week ago, the club has had a change of heart now and want to bring in an experienced manager to take Swindon back to League One next season.

Wise would lift the profile of the club as well as have many contacts with his good friend Ray Wilkens, who has been at the County Ground several times over the last 2 seasons.

It is unknown what role Iffy Onuora, Alan Reeves and Ian Woan will have at the club should Wise take the managers role.

Wise is also expected to bring Gus Puyol or Ray Wilkens in as his assistant along with his own coaching team.

I hope we now get some stability into this club. All these changes every few months can not be good to get a team playing well.
