Deputy Chairman Mark Devlin has confirmed Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet will join Swindon after agreeing to three year contracts with the club.
Devlin also revealed that Wise will take on a player manager role similiar to Lou Macari, Glenn Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles in the past. Here is Mark Devlins thoughts on the arrival of Dennis Wise to the County Ground.
'We are delighted that both Dennis and Gus have agreed to join the club. It is a fantastic opportunity that was presented to us and hopefully this is the start of another new journey for Swindon fans, and hopefully one that will lead us back into League One at the earliest opportunity.
'Dennis and Gus will join on three-year deals and Dennis is keen to continue playing. The paperwork is pretty much done and dusted and we hope to make an announcement confirming that on Monday at a press conference,' said Devlin.
'Dennis is still keen to play and will take up a Player-Manager role. I have seen Dennis play on a few occasions over the last year and I'm sure he can do a good job on the pitch too.
'Gus will also bring his own style to the club and I am excited about the whole thing. I am excited about their plans for pre-season and beyond.
'We have now parted company with both Iffy and Alan. I would like to place on record my thanks for all their hard work. We will be speaking with Dennis in the early part of next week.
'One of the questions we put to Dennis on Tuesday when we met with him was why would he want to come down to League Two? The answers we got were both refreshing and exciting. He is very aware of the challenge we have ahead of us and has a tremendous amount of pride and ambition and he wants to do well.'
'Dennis has been to the stadium and had a look at the training facilities, both current and the potential we have. It is fair to say that they were very impressed with the Wanborough facilities and Dennis was very complimentary about The County Ground.'
'The appointment of Dennis is an indication of our ambition and he is a winner. He has great contacts, passion and a desire which I hope will run through the club,' said Devlin.
