'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robins Beat Saints

During the build-up of Swindon Town's visit to Southampton Saints boss Alan Pardew told the press that 'draw for them [Swindon] is a win, it`s as simple as that.'

What apparently wasn't expected though was Town getting the 3 points thanks to a gritty performance from all the Swindon players who played.

Wilson has called the victory a 'monster, monster' win because they have taken on a very good side, matched them and taken the win. Lovely. Swindon have taken maximum points from the Saints this season.

However, as the trend seems to be at the moment victory appears to come at a price. Scott Cuthbert limped off late in the first half but was adequately replaced by Lescinel Jean-Francois while Simon Ferry was sent-off for a second bookable offence late on.

The extent of Cuthbert's injury is currently unknown while Ferry will sit out of Town's home fixture with high-flying Norwich City on Saturday.

One hell of a result against all odds - well done lads - Alan Pardew started the banter with this ' draw is like a win' business and is looking pretty sick now I hope - bet he don't use that little gem again.
