Wise - Why I Chose Swindon Town

New Swindon Town Manager Dennis Wise has spoken to the media and explains why he chose Swindon Town over other clubs

'Why Swindon Town? I need to learn and I'm going to learn,

'I met a nice fellow called Michael, who had come along and had a chat with me and let me have the run over the whole club.

'I think that was important to me, as I wanted to run the whole place as much as I could and up to a certain part, and be involved in everything.

'That's one difficult thing when you go to a football club is that a lot of football clubs do not let you do that.

'We had a really good meeting and I liked what I heard and those are my reasons.

'I have been impressed with Swindon in the meetings we have had and liked what I heard,

'There will not be loads of money to spend. I have targets I would like to bring in and we will have to wheel and deal to a certain extent.'

'I want a fit and strong side because once you have that you have a mentally strong side and that will help us no end.'

'I am sure the players will do well for us and keep us out of the side but because we will have a relatively small squad the option will be there.'

'I think it's very difficult to set targets at the present moment,

'I need to sit down and assess the situation and assess the players, and also assess what we can and can't do.

'There's not going to be loads and loads of money involved. We're going to have to wheel and deal a little bit and try and learn the hard way and work it right.

'That's what we intend to do and we're looking forward to it.'
