Town Reach the Home Straight

Town's 1-1 draw with Walsall this afternoon will go down as a missed opportunity with Leeds United, Millwall and Charlton Athletic all losing this weekend.

However, the table shows that Swindon are still very much in with a shout of automatic promotion as the Robins trail 2nd place Leeds by only two points.

Meanwhile, as it stands Town still need a point to kill off Southampton's Play-Off charge.

Lee Barnard's late, late goal at Yeovil Town meant that they can still mathematically reach the Play-Offs - that is only if the Saints win every one of the four remaining fixtures and if either Swindon or Huddersfield Town lose all of theirs. Alan Pardew's men have the form and the goal difference, Swindon Town will no doubt have one eye on their progress!

Colchester United's Play-Off interests faded dramatically today after a 2-1 loss at Hartlepool United. They cannot catch Swindon but they can still overtake Huddersfield.

It's very interesting up there at the top of League One.

Surely to goodness the Saints cannot catch us? Wycombe will be tough but they are down there for a reason.

We've only ourselves to blame - if they do - very poor performance last Saturday. Playing away may be better - as teams are coming here with 11 man defences and catching us on the break.

A bit like us - home draws could come back and haunt you - good luck though.
