STFC: Town Face Saints Test

Swindon Town will face reigning Johnstone's Paint Trophy champions Southampton in the first round of this seasons competition. The draw was made on SkySports show Soccer A.M.

Last year Swindon were knocked out by Norwich City on penalties and will now face Alan Pardew's men, who beat Carlisle United with ease in last years final.

Many Town fans were hoping to draw old rivals Oxford United.

We hope you enjoy your journey down to the south coast because we are hoping that you enjoy the return home a bit less. Last season you were the only team we didn't get a point from and I am sorry to say we are going to try and alter that to the opposite this time around.

The toughest draw we could've asked for. I don't expect progress.
