STFC: Newcastle Eye Morrison?

STFC: Newcastle Eye Morrison?

Did the Geordies purchase Ben Tozer believing they were signing Sean Morrison?

Probably not but Morrison is currently doing what can be argued as having done the sensible option by remaining in lower league football.

Tozer and Morrison arrived in Wiltshire along with Ben Joyce (now at Salisbury) in 2007.

Centre back Tozer enjoyed a brief spell in the Swindon Town first team which was enough to earn him a big move to Newcastle United where he has failed to break into the first team set-up and also struggles to get a game in the reserves. A trial at Leyton Orient in the Summer failed to go any further.

However, Morrison has remained at Swindon, worked hard and even struggled to break into the squad at times. But Morrison is slowly establishing himself as a first team player and is once again attracting attention from big clubs (earlier in his Town career Everton were among the rumoured interested parties).

So in come United's apparent interest for Morrison according to, erm, TalkSport.
