Rumours Continue Circulating

Town chief executive Mark Devlin has had a busy summer so far, mainly denying every rumour that makes it way around the Swindon Town fans forums!

Rochdale favourite Rickie Lambert, who finished top of both the scoring and assists chart in League Two last season, is a name that has been doing the rounds recently. And despite some claiming the deal was done, both Mark Devlin and Rochdale boss Steve Parkin have denied the rumour.

Parkin said, 'I have just got back from holiday but I have certainly had no contact from Swindon about Rickie and neither has anyone else at the club.'

Another name that has come to light is that of former Swansea midfielder Roberto Martinez, who was released by the promotion hopefulls after their play-off final defeat in Cardiff last month. No comment has been made by Swansea City or Swindon Town on this rumour.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Eugen Bopp has also been linked with a summer switch to Town, as has ex-Town 'keeper Steve Mildenhall and former Millwall goalkeeper Andy Marshall.

Mark Devlin had already denied plenty of speculation before hand, with the likes of Steve Claridge and Richard Shaw being linked to Swindon.
