STFC: Dougie 'no reason for me to move'

Swindon Town club captain Jonathan Douglas has dismissed talk of a pending exit away from Swindon by stating his desire to remain at the County Ground.

The former Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United midfielder had a fantastic opening season at the County Ground scooping pretty much every accolade going at the End of Season Awards but has suffered a bit from injuries and suspensions during this campaign.

In an interview with the Swindon Advertiser, Douglas reassured the fans by declaring that he hadn't heard the rumours and that he'd 'be at Swindon until the end of the year, and then the club have an option on me for another year.' He also added that he was 'enjoying it here (at Swindon) and there`s no reason for me to move.'

Various rumours had circulated that Douglas was moving to Brighton (and several other clubs) or that he had a falling out with Danny Wilson or both plus many, many more!
