STFC: Benyon Joins from Torquay

Torquay United forward ELLIOT BENYON has signed for Swindon Town.

The 23 year old joins for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £65,000.

Benyon started his career with Bristol City and was a successful graduate of their Academy system when he signed a professional deal with the Ashton Gate club in 2006.

However, Benyon was unable to break into the first team at Bristol City but enjoyed loan spells at both St. Albans City and Crawley Town.

Benyon was released by Bristol City in 2007 but found a new club in the form of Non-League outfit Torquay United.

The young forward went on to play over 120 appearances for the Gulls, helping them to get back into the Football League in 2009.
