STFC: The Loan Grella

STFC: The Loan Grella

Former United States youth international Mike Grella and joined Swindon on loan from Leeds United on loan until the end of the season.

Grella, 24, has found games hard to come by since United's promotion to The Championship and spent some time this season on loan with Carlisle United where he scored 3 in 10 outings.

The forward started his career within the American Collegiate system with Duke University's Blue Jays outfit.

After completing his education Grella linked up with the Long Island Rough Islands in the USL Premier Development League where he scored 10 goals in 19 appearances.

This earned him a move to Leeds United where he has only 1 goal, against Stockport County in September 2009, in 30 appearances for the Whites.

Grella goes straight into the Town squad for the daunting trip to Southampton this weekend!
