Phillips Set To Join Swindon?

Dennis Wise is set to announce the signing of a new goalkeeper who could be set to wear the number one shirt.

'We are getting close to another player joining us but I don't want to say much until it's all complete. It is a goalkeeper but we're not saying anything else at this stage. If we get this deal done then we will have a keeper with us, failing that it will be trialists who we can have a look at during the game.' Wise told the official website.

The player in question is rumoured to be Bristol City goalkeeper Steve Phillips who has been transfer listed by the club.

Phillips has made it clear that he would like to sign with Swindon and made sure his agent contacted Swindon to discuss a possible move. Rumours have circulated that Phillips has been training at Swindon for a little over 2 weeks now.

Bristol City have left to begin a pre-season tour in Latvia. City manager Gary Johnson has stated that the transfer listed Phillips is close to signing with a new club, that club may very well be Swindon Town.
