STFC: Smith Sorry for Tiff!

STFC: Smith Sorry for Tiff!

Swindon Town goalkeeper Phil Smith has apologised for his part in a spat between him and team mate Matt Ritchie during the 1-1 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge last weekend.

Talking to the Swindon Advertiser, Smith admitted that he was 'embarrassed by what happened and would like to apologise to the supporters and everyone involved, because it was embarrassing... I was ashamed and I apologise to Matty and the rest of the players and the supporters as well."

The long serving Town shotstopper concluded by stating that with his experience he 'shouldn`t let it show as I did but if it shows that I cared and want to take that as a good point then yes I do care, I desperately care. I don`t want to be involved in a relegation and I don`t want to be the cause of it either.'

Town's streak without a win has now been extended to 14 games.
