Appointment Scheduled for Wednesday

Appointment Scheduled for Wednesday

Swindon fans must until next next Wednesday for the appointment of Town's new manager.

The board have established an 8 man shortlist plus Paul Bodin who has put forward his name.

The Eight (Maybe)

PAUL TROLLOPE:

Age: 38

Previous Clubs: Bristol Rovers.

Summary: Has Swindon Town in his veins. He did a sound job at Rovers and has been seen at several Town fixtures.

RICHARD MONEY:

Age: 55

Previous Clubs: Scunthorpe United, Aston Villa (youth), Coventry City (coach), AIK, Västerås SK, Newcastle United Jets, Walsall, Newcastle United (academy), Luton Town.

Summary: Was widely tipped to replace Maurice Malpas before Danny Wilson's appointment. Plenty of experience.

PAOLO DI CANIO:

Age: 42

Previous Clubs: None.

Summary: Rookie who holds the UEFA Pro License. He would generate media attention and 'bums in seats'.

GEORGE BURLEY

Age: 54

Age: Ayr United, Colchester United, Ipswich Town, Derby County, Hearts, Southampton, Scotland, Crystal Palace.

Summary: Premier League Manager of the Year in 2001. A wealth of experience at most levels.

GUS MCPHERSON

Age: 42

Previous Club: Falkirk.

Summary: Promising coach who did decent things during his time at St. Mirren.

JOHN HUGHES

Age: 46

Previous Clubs: Falkirk, Hibernian.

Summary: Showed a lot of promise at Falkirk but struggled at Hibs. League Two would be a good place to re-start his career in management.

JIM MAGILTON

Age: 42

Previous Clubs: Ipswich Town, Queens Park Rangers.

Summary: Former Oxford player who looked likely to enjoy a long career in management after a decent spell at Ipswich Town. However, he's struggling since with only a brief spell at QPR added to his management C.V.

GRAHAM RIX:

AGE: 53

Previous Clubs: Chelsea (coach), Portsmouth, Oxford United, Hearts, Glenn Hoddle Academy (coach).

Summary: Another experienced coach. However, his link to Oxford (and his stint in prison) would make Rix a very unpopular appointment with a vast amount of the supporters.
