Sheehan Could Stay

Sheehan Could Stay

During the latter stages of the doomed 2010/11 campaign Town defender Alan Sheehan joined Preston North End on trial.

The decision angered caretaker manager Paul Bodin who indicated that the end was near for the former Leicester City man. However, his agent told the press that Sheehan had been given permission to travel north and train with Phil Brown's squad.

Weeks but and it was assumed that Sheehan would walk come the end of his contract but it appears that Sheehan could stay put.

The Advertiser newspaper claims that Sheehan has received one year contract offers from two unnamed League One clubs but it said to be keen negotiating a two year deal at the County Ground.

Sheehan, 24, has frustrated fans for seemingly not proving his worth during his Town career thus far. The ability is there and perhaps a two year deal and the leadership of Paolo Di Canio could spark a bit more enthusiasm in the future. Time will tell.
