'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dougie Future Unclear

Sources 'close' to the Advertiser newspaper believe that Swindon captain Jonathan Douglas wants to prolong his career at The County Ground.

Douglas is out of contract but Swindon have the option to trigger a clause that would keep the former Republic of Ireland international in Wiltshire beyond the summer.

It's believed that Douglas is particularly keen to work alongside new manager Paolo Di Canio.

Any confirmation of a new deal might not emerge until mid-June as the Town skipper is currently overseas on holiday.
