Two arrive on trial

Swindon have confirmed that Ibrahim Atiku and Oliver Risser have linked up with the club and will travel to Italy for pre-season training.

IBRAHIM ATIKU

A childhood friend of Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien. The 28 year old attacking midfielder started his career in his native Ghana with Liberty Professionals (where he spent some time on loan in Israel).

He later moved to Sweden and played for Västerås, Friska Viljor, Assyriska Föreningen, Sylvia (loan) and Vasalund (Atiku obtained Swedish citizenship in 2005).

Most recently he was with Greek outfit Ethnikos Piraeus but during his career Atiku has had trials with Manchester United (as a teenager) and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

OLIVER RISSER

A Namibia international midfielder with many caps for the African nation.

Risser, 30, has spent the majority of his career in the German lower leagues with SpVgg EGC Wirges, Borussia Dortmund II, SV Sandhausen, Hannover 96 II and Manglerud Star as well as stints in Scandinavia with Breidablik, Lyn and Kuopion Palloseura.
