Leon Knight arrives on trial
Former Brighton & Hove Albion favourite Leon Knight has joined Swindon Town on trial in a bid to get his English domestic career back on track.
Knight, 28, has been in exile due to a contractual related disagreement with recently banished non-league outfit Rushden & Diamonds.
The falling out between Rushden & Diamonds and Knight resulted in the football club refusing to cancel his contract (scheduled to expire this summer) and has therefore spent his career since playing outside of England with Thrasivoulos Filis, Hamilton, Queen of the South and Coleraine.
Prior to this Knight was considered a great prospect having started with Chelsea and then becoming a bit of a hero at Brighton where he was hated by opposing fans!
I suppose the phrase 'chip on shoulder' is an understatement and his arrive, despite only on a trial basis, has resulted in a good few groans from segments of Swindon's fanbase.
