Town seek swift Bargas deal

Paolo Di Canio is keen to secure the signing of Agentinian centre forward Hugo Bargas.

Such a signiture would be considered quite the coup for Town as Bargas has reportedly turned down talks with a top flight Swiss club and is being chased by Serie B sides in Italy too.

Bargas, 24, is the son of Ángel Bargas a former Argentina international who was selected for his nation to play in the 1974 World Cup.

Due to his fathers playing career, Bargas jr. was born in France and therefore holds dual nationality.

Hugo Bargas started his career in the Primera B Metropolitana in Argentina with Club Atlético All Boys where he helped El Albo win the title.

His promise earned him a move to the Netherlands in 2008 with De Graafschap. He featured rarely in his first season, spending time out on loan at FC Zwolle, but flourished during his second scoring 16 times earning another league winners medal. However, he struggled to find the net on a regular basis in the Dutch top flight and was evntually released in 2011.

Bargas is believed to be enroute to Italy to discuss terms in person with Di Canio.
