Zola Not Joining Swindon

Zola Not Joining Swindon

The long shot dream of Gianfranco Zola coming to Swindon Town is over after the Chelsea legend agreed to become Manager of Italy's Under 21 team.

The Chelsea legend was rumoured by many to be the huge signing that the club had talked about. Zola had featured in Sky Sports masters game on the weekend and Soccer Aid in late June, but has decided to join Italy's Under 21 team as manager along with Pierluigi Casiraghi.

There is no question Gianfranco Zola can still play the game and yes it was fun while it lasted but in reality, Zola was never going to join the League 2 club.

Many wanted and felt Zola may be the huge signing due to his relationship with Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet while the three where at Chelsea.

Other rumoured names have been Dion Dublin and Paul Ince who looks set to leave Wolves.
