Peacock influenced Connell move

Peacock influenced Connell move

New Town forward Alan Connell has been talking to the media for the first time since completing his move from Grimsby Town.

Connell has cited that there were two influences that led to his move to Wiltshire. The first being that of the Paolo Di Canio 'factor'. Talking to the official Swindon Town website Connell admitted when he was told of Town's interest he thought that it would be 'brilliant to work with Paolo Di Canio'.

However, Alan Connell has also acknowledged the advice given to him by former Town player Lee Peacock. The former Bournemouth favourite explained that Peacock was a close friend of his and stated that Swindon 'was the best club he ever played for, and that was good enough for me.'

Connell hopes to make his debut for Swindon against Swindon Supermarine tomorrow night.
