Raimondi in the rough

Raimondi in the rough

Uruguay forward Nicolás Raimondi will start training with the club tomorrow it has been confirmed.

Raimondi, 26, started his career with Montevideo side Liverpool before moves to Antofagasta, Miramar Misiones and Atlético Universidad.

He returned to Liverpool in 2005 before moving to Brazilian side Avaí in 2007.

Raimondi joined the superbly named Club Deportivo Universitario San Francisco Xavier. His exploits earned him a move to Cyprus with Ermis Aradippou (Danny Invincible's current club) in 2009 but returned to South America to sign for Bolivian side Club Jorge Wilstermann a year later.

It wasn't long before Raimondi was off again to crack Europe, this time in Bulgaria with Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Raimondi will try and complete Di Canio's attacking options and is believed to fill the much wanted 'big man up front' role.
