Crawley Town vs. Swindon Town (next week)
Well according to the local press over Crawley way it's the CLASH OF THE TITANS!
Titans?
Swindon?
Crawley?
I don't think so!
Evans vs. Di Canio?
I don't think the football world is going to be talking about it for very long (if at all).
Of course, what they mean is that a reasonably sized football celebrity in the form of Swindon's manager is coming to Town and Crawley's manager wants a bit of media attention... and why not eh.
Evans, who shall we say has a bit of a repuatation himself, told the local media that he admired Di Canio the player and what he has done to raise the profile of League Two football but whether he 'would want him as my manager though is a totally different question.'
That's a little bit rich coming from a man who experienced what he did at Boston United isn't it?
Evans continued by saying 'it's a massive week for us and the Di Canio Circus rolls into town next Tuesday'. Yeah, Swindon Town get a bit of media attention nowadays (aka the circus). It's not as thought Crawley Town have been neglected recently.
One especially enjoyed how Evans reminded us all how eternally popular he is considered by masses when he sarcastically claimed that he was 'sure the Crawley fans will make him feel welcome on Tuesday in the same way home fans welcome me when my team play away.'
Don't worry Mr. Evans, football won't forget you when the 'circus' comes to Town!
Both Town and Crawley have a fixture to play prior to this match but it's reassuring to learn that Steve Evans simply cannot wait to take on Paolo Di Canio.
