Mattia Lanzano Set To Leave Swindon

Mattia Lanzano Set To Leave Swindon

Swindon Town goalkeeper Mattia Lanzano is set to depart the County Ground after failing to settle to life in England.

Lanzano arrived at SN1 in July 2011 and only made a handful of appearances since signing a 2 year contract.

Town gaffer Paolo Di Canio has often stated that he would not play Lanzano due to a lack of confidence from his keeper, however this looks to be down to the 20 year old wanting to return to Italy after struggling to settle in Wiltshire.

It is expected the club will announce they have come to a mutual decision to terminate his contract.

Town may now be looking for a permanent goalkeeper with Phil Smith being the only permanent keeper at Swindon to have played league football. Town still have Mark Scott who is currently on loan to Oxford City and Leigh Bedwell who has been on the bench several times this season.

Temporary signing Wes Foderingham could be set to return to Crystal Palace in January after a string of impressive performances for Town.
