Di Canio Threatens To Quit Swindon Town

Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio has gone mental and declared, 'get me 5 new players in January or I'm outta here', just days after saying he wanted a new contract at Swindon Town.

Di Canio was clearly peed off at the lackluster display his side showed at The Mem today as they conceded a late goal to the Gas to drop 2 points in a west country derby.

BBC Radio Wiltshire refused to air the post match interview with PDC stating the content was inappropriate and that it was laced with expletives.

The Swindon Advertiser quoted PDC as saying, "I have already asked the chairman for three players, but now I want four or five, otherwise I will discuss my contract. With this mentality I can not win the league."

Whether this was a heat of the moment rant from Di Canio or whether he meant what he said, the truth will no doubt come out in the following days.

Town are still unbeaten in 14 games however it was the display that clearly got to the flamboyant Italian.

Hopefully PDC will settle down tonight with a couple of Peroni's and get this set back out of his system and explain next week that it was all a misunderstanding and was just a kick up the backside to those players who fail to live up to Di Canio's high standards.

Top scorer Medhi Kerrouche was the latest player to feel Di Canio's wrath although he was re-called against Rovers today before being dragged off in the second half.
