Constable Most Likely To Remain At Oxford

Swindon Town`s bid to lure James Constable to the County Ground appears to have failed.

Town had 2 bid`s rejected for the player known as Beano yesterday believed to be £175,000 and £250,000.

Sky reported yesterday that Constable had been keen to sit down with Town to see what they would offer. Constable has stated on his Twitter account that he has not asked to talk to Swindon and suggestions that he wanted to move are rubbish.

Constable also re-tweeted that he was not looking to leave Oxford United especially for another League Two side and would only look at the possibility of a move if it were to a team in a higher division.

Oxford boss Chris Wilder had stated a deal had to be right for both the clubs as well as the player however it appears the player has no interest on moving down the A420 to Swindon, unless ofcourse Oxford United accept a bid.

Constable had previously spoken to League One side AFC Bournemouth about a move and despite getting the wages he wanted and moving to a higher division, he later turned down a move to the Cherries stating his loyalty to Oxford as the reason.

Paolo Di Canio would be better off looking elsewhere we think.
