Swindon Rubbish Reports Of Ipswich Bid

Swindon Town interim chairman Jeremy Wray has moved to alleviate fears that Town could be set to lose two of their most influential players to Championships strugglers Ipswich Town.

Rumours were rife over the weekend that Paul Jewell had tabled a bid for Matt Ritchie and Paul Caddis with Ronan Murray and cash coming the other way.

Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio said after Swindon`s 2-1 win over Rotherham at the weekend that Ritchie can forget leaving the club until at least the Summer.

Wray told the Swindon Advertiser that the club had received no formal bids what so ever for any of Swindon`s players.

With Town only losing once in twenty one games, it would come as a surprise to no one if the vultures started circling, however Di Canio is keen to improve his squad not weaken it as Town attempt to return to League One at the first time of asking.
