Bournemouth And Swindon In Tug O'War For Ritchie

The transfer window cannot close fast enough for Swindon Town supporters today with Sky Sports reporting that Matt Ritchie will finally become an AFC Bournemouth player today.

Town boss Paolo Di Canio states that Ritchie is going nowhere but Bournemouth are throwing stupid money around in a bid to land their man.

Bournemouth made their interest in Ritchie public last month much to the annoyance of the Swindon Town boardroom.

Selling Ritchie today could be devastating in terms of Town`s promotion push although they do have Luke Rooney waiting in the wings to replace Ritchie should the worst happen.

Bournemouth are likely to make a bid which Town will reject and Ritchie will likely move in the Summer as Paolo Di Canio has stated on numerous occasions.

It is thought that Ritchie would welcome a move to Bournemouth, given that they are in a higher division and pushing for the playoffs in League One.

Bournemouth is also closer to Ritchie's hometown.

Whilst Ritchie may welcome a move to Dean Court, the player has not asked for a move away from Swindon and is happy to stay until at the County Ground until at least the end of the season.
