Swindon Could Beam Back Gills Match

Swindon Could Beam Back Gills Match

Swindon Town are currently in discussions with Gillingham FC to try and ensure that fans are able to travel to Gillingham and potentially watch Swindon Town win the League.

Gills are currently stuck in a bitter dispute with Kent Police over Policing levels for the fixture which has forced the cancel to not allow fans to attend the fixture.

Town chief Executive Nick Watkins has told the Swindon Advertiser today, "Once we are fully aware of the outcome of those conversations, and if we are faced with a situation where there are no fans at that game, we will have to look at ways of potentially showing the match. But at this stage we have no further comment to make."

The farcical situation has meant Town fans have already booked hotels and train tickets to get to Gillingham although they may not actually get to see the match.

Many Town fans have stated even if the match is not on, they will travel to Gillingham anyway.
